| Soulful Songstress Sara Bareilles to Perform at 7th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser The Epicurean Charitable Foundation will host its 7th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser gala at Mandalay Bay Beach on Oct. 3, featuring world-class cuisine prepared by the finest chefs and restaurants in Las Vegas, a collection of fine wines and spirits and spectacular entertainment by guest performer Sara Bareilles. UNLV Men’s Baskteball Head Coach Lon Kruger will be honored by the Foundation. Doors to the event will open at 7:30 p.m. For information on purchasing tickets, guests can contact the Foundation at (702) 932-5098. Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting Las Vegas area students in their pursuit of a career in the hospitality field.

| 2008 Scholarship Winners: Building For The Future Angela Szewczyk and Sabrina Karic were awarded scholarships from the Epicurean Charitable Foundation through which they have been given an inside track to management positions with the hospitality industry. Read how the Epicurean Charitable Foundation is developing the next generation of industry leaders. “Back in 2000, I was at lunch with some colleagues and we talked about how difficult it was to find qualified mid-management applicants because of the lack of training, and we decided we should do something about this,” said Rino Armeni, Epicurean Charitable Foundation Founder. “We decided we would get together and shape students who had expressed an interest in going into hospitality.” Angela Szewczyk and Sabrina Karic were awarded scholarships from the Epicurean Charitable Foundation through which they have been given an inside track to management positions with the hospitality industry. | Founder of Epicurean Foundation Earns Community Spirit Award Rino Armeni, founder of the Epicurean Charitable Foundation Las Vegas, was recently honored with KLAS Channel 8's "Community Spirit" award. "I always wanted to do something for other people but I never made the time. But when I came to Las Vegas, I felt that when I saw how many people give back, I don't think people do in other cities what people in Las Vegas do. I decided the time had come for me to do something about it," said Armeni.
